One day, Mario Liberato was running CPUMiner (minerd) on his laptop to see what his hashing speed was, using a weak laptop. After several days, he became bored for CPUMiner was a command-line only program. Yes, a batch file could be used to automate this, but wasn't very good to configure.
The project founder is always looking for a new programming challenge. Making a GUI would solve all of his problems, and gave him a new challenge, which was proven not to be too hard to overcome. And so the updates started rolling in.
Currrently, CPUMiner GUI 0.7 is available to the public, and this project needs expansion. For this reason, Crypto CPUMiner GUI Premium was created. It is a way of saying "Thank You" to the developers, and also getting the updates at least one week before Free users.
